Pinokyo
Pinokyo is a contemporary kokeshi doll that brings together two instantly recognisable figures: the traditional Japanese wooden doll and Pinocchio, the beloved Italian wooden boy. Made of maple wood for its pale, silky surface, each doll is hand-turned in Bologna by master woodturner Mauro Sarti (aka Mauby & Wood), based on an original design that reinterprets the proportions of classic kokeshi. A delicate object that blends cultures, techniques and imagination.
