Vintage Soroban
Before calculators, this is how people counted in Japan.
Original soroban made by Matsuo Shōten (松尾商店) and certified by the National Soroban Education Federation (全国珠算教育連盟). Made with bamboo rods and turned wooden beads, likely from the 1950s–60s.
Available in two versions:
23 rods (standard school model)
27 rods (full version)
Tools made for everyday use, still perfectly functional and surprisingly satisfying to handle today.
