Vintage traditional Naruko Kokeshi – 30 cm
Identifying kokeshi can often be quite difficult, but let’s start with the basics! Naruko is the most recognized style on kokeshi and is highly influential on other types. It’s distinguished by a straight body, slightly narrowing at the waist, with paintings of chrysanthemum, iris or peony. The hair is tied with red ribbons, shoulders are decorated with lathe lines. Cat nose, single eyelid and red lips.
This doll had a hard life before reaching vud. You’ll notice some light stains on the back and some dents on the back of the head. But that makes it even more charming, doesn’t it?
